Global investment firm Carlyle has appointed Jin Hwan Choi as its senior adviser to the Carlyle Asia advisory team, a role in which he will work closely with the company’s senior leadership team and investment advisory teams to provide strategic insights on investment opportunities and value creation initiatives for portfolio companies in South Korea and across Asia-Pacific.

Formerly the CEO of Lotte Rental, SK Broadband, ADT Caps and Hyundai Life Insurance, Choi is an accomplished business leader who brings more than 30 years of experience leading and transforming businesses across the mobility, telecommunications, security and financial services sectors in South Korea.

He also joins Carlyle portfolio company Chung Ho Group as CEO and president of Crystal Holdings Korea, the holding company of Chung Ho Group. Chung Ho Group comprises Chung Ho Nais, a leading South Korean home and healthcare appliance rental platform, Microfilter, MCM and Nais Engineering.

“Having worked closely with him during our investment in ADT Caps, we saw firsthand Choi’s deep market knowledge, disciplined execution, and focus on performance,” says Greg Zeluck, partner and co-head of Carlyle Asia Partners. “His appointment further strengthens our capabilities in South Korea and across Asia, and we look forward to leveraging his experience as we continue to deepen our local presence and seek to expand our investment activities in South Korea.”
