Lombard Odier has appointed Louisa Loo as head of wealth planning for Asia, effective December 17. She will be based in Hong Kong.
To strengthen the investment solutions team in the region, the firm has also appointed See Mun Yu as senior investment advisor and Maki Shimizu as portfolio manager, effective November 17 and October 7 respectively.
All three roles are client-facing, underscoring the firm’s ongoing commitment to providing outstanding client service and driving strategic growth across the region, Lombard Odier says.
Loo will lead the development and delivery of the firm’s holistic wealth planning and family services proposition for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across key Asian markets, strengthening the firm’s wealth advisory offering in the region.
With more than 30 years of wealth management experience, Loo joins the firm from Nomura International ( Hong Kong ), where she held the position of head of wealth planning, Asia ( excluding Japan ).
Prior to this, she held key senior positions at leading financial institutions including Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Citicorp International Limited and HSBC International Trustee Limited.
Loo will be reporting directly to Stanislas Peel, group head of wealth planning, and locally to Omar Shokur, regional head for Asia, private clients.
Based in Singapore, Yu will focus on delivering tailored investment advice that aligns with clients’ goals and objectives, and will work closely with bankers to provide holistic advisory solutions to clients and their families.
She joins the firm from Bank Pictet & Cie ( Asia ), where she was senior investment specialist. She has over 24 years of investment advisory and portfolio management experience with key positions in financial institutions including Credit Suisse Asset Management, BNP Paribas Wealth Management, HSBC Private Bank, and Morgan Stanley Capital International.
Shimizu, as portfolio manager, will be based in Tokyo. She will be responsible for managing discretionary investment strategies and offerings for the Japanese market.
With over 20 years of experience, Shimizu joins from UBS SuMi TRUST Wealth Management, and was previously at Credit Suisse Securities Japan, where she was chief investment strategist.
She has also held senior investment management roles at Citigroup Global Markets Japan and UBS Securities Japan.
