DBS, Hamilton Lane debut private assets solution
Path opens opportunities in alternative investing for UHNW clients, traditionally domain of institutional capital

In a move to further democratize institutional-grade private market investing for Asia’s ultra-wealthy, Singapore-based DBS Private Bank has partnered with investment manager Hamilton Lane to launch Private Assets Tailored by Hamilton Lane ( Path ), a fully customized private assets solution aimed at ultra-high-net-worth ( UHNW ) clients and family offices.

Path, the companies point out, opens opportunities in alternative investing, traditionally the domain of institutional capital, by enabling qualified investors to build a diversified portfolio spanning private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure.

Since launch, Path has already seen uptake from family office clients; and, DBS notes, it expects this momentum to grow, with the offering complemented by its Private Assets Club, which provides clients with early access to next-gen sectors like artificial intelligence, biotech and space tech.

The solution, the bank shares, also integrates into clients’ overall asset allocation, providing a systematic approach to alternatives that addresses both due diligence and fund selection challenges.

“We’ve seen a nearly fivefold increase in our clients’ assets under management in private assets over the past five years, reflecting the growing appetite for resilient, long-term investment opportunities beyond public markets,” adds Shee Tse Koon, the bank’s group head of consumer banking and wealth management. “With Path, we are taking this momentum further by offering our clients an investment solution that comes with a level of customization, transparency and diversification rarely seen in the private wealth space.

“More importantly, with a lower entry point compared to traditional institutional structures, Path also makes private markets investing more accessible, allowing more of our clients to participate meaningfully in this asset class.”
