Global business services provider Vistra has appointed Kevin Smythe as its country managing director for Japan.
With over five and a half years in Japan at the company and a former Tricor employee, Smythe’s previous roles as director of sales and marketing and leader of the company secretarial service line have equipped him with a deep understanding of Japanese culture, government and business.
This is critical as Vistra continues to strengthen its presence in this important and complex market. This internal promotion also highlights the company’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering leadership within the organization.
Symthe began his career as an auditor with EY in Silicon Valley. After leaving public accounting, he served in various leadership positions within finance organizations, including roles collaborating on cross-border projects between the United States and Japan.
These experiences sparked his passion for helping organizations navigate challenges specific to Japan and led him to join Vistra, where he could extend this support on a broader scale.
“Symthe has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership,” states Melanie Leydin, the company’s regional managing director for Japan, Australia and South Korea (JASK). “His extensive experience and commercial insight will be crucial in driving our growth strategy in Japan and across the JASK region, as he ensures our client and people needs are met with confidence.”
