BNP Paribas names FI&C Asia-Pacific co-heads
Hugues Williamson, Mark Wootton have extensive securities services experience
The Asset 30 May 2023

BNP Paribas’ securities services business has appointed Hugues Williamson and Mark Wootton as co-heads of its financial intermediaries and corporates (FI&C) client line and will focus on delivering and growing the FI&C client line strategy, initiatives and franchise within the region.

Williamson will be responsible for the FI&C client strategy in North Asia and Greater China and be the primary contact for broker-dealing outsourcing, correspondent banking, cash management and liquidity solutions, execution to custody and third-party clearing.

Wootton will cover the South Asia and Pacific regions with the primary responsibility for derivatives and execution clearing, digital, global custody and local custody topics.

Both men will jointly report to Franck Dubois, head of Asia-Pacific for securities services, and to Bruno Campenon, global head of FI&C client line, with Williamson located in Hong Kong and Wootton in Sydney.

Williamson joined BNP Paribas in 1999 in Paris and moved to Asia-Pacific in 2008 to launch the securities services business of BNP Paribas in Hong Kong. He has held several roles since then, including chief operating officer for securities services in Hong Kong; head of banking services operations, Asia-Pacific; and recently deputy head of FI&C client line, Asia-Pacific.

Wootton has more than 25 years’ experience in fund administration, investment management, stockbroking and the securities services industry. He was previously regional head of local custody and clearing product, Asia-Pacific.

Campenon says: “Williamson and Wootton bring extensive operational and client knowledge, putting us in a strong position to continue to grow our FI&C offering in Asia-Pacific – which is a key region for the bank’s securities services business.”
