Bain & Company has appointed Sebastien Lamy as co-head of its private equity practice in the Asia-Pacific region, a role in which he will be responsible for implementing the firm’s private equity practice strategy and its business, client and practice development.

With over 20 years of consulting experience in the company, most of which in Asia-Pacific, Lamy, who will continue to be based in Tokyo, specializes in growth, portfolio and fund strategy, M&A advisory, due diligence and innovation.

Most recently, he was leader of the region’s infrastructure investing practice. Prior to joining Bain, Lamy was managing director of Singapore-based Keppel Corporation, where he led group strategy, M&A, technology and innovation.

“Lamy has been a key driver of growth in private equity in Asia-Pacific,” says Satish Shankar, Bain’s Asia-Pacific regional managing partner. “He has also expanded our business, particularly in Japan and Southeast Asia.”
