Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has appointed Sadayuki Takahashi to the newly created position of  deputy head of Japan to further strengthen its management structure in Japan and its client support functions, including client services, operations and business administration.

Before joining ASI, Takahashi was COO of distribution and head of product development at Schroders Japan since 2017. In his 14-year career at Schroders, he held several leadership roles, including head of product development, client service and business management, and contributed to establishing a solid customer service platform based on local client needs. Prior to that, he was with JP Morgan and The Bank of New York in Tokyo for a combined 16 years, where he held senior roles in client services and global custody.

Takahashi, who will be based in Tokyo and join the board of ASI Japan, will work closely with Ken Yajima, chief executive officer of ASI Japan, who says, “Takahashi’s experience and deep expertise in the asset management industry will contribute to the expansion of our Japan business and strengthen our client engagement.”

Over the last few years, ASI has expanded its team across various functions, strengthened its distribution channels and broadened its offerings of global investment solutions to address Japanese investors’ needs.
